I have always loved trains. Growing up, we always had trains running around the Christmas tree. In our basement, my Dad and I built a 4 foot square train layout in O scale. We moved to another house soon after and the layout grew into a 4 foot by 8 foot layout with actual scenery on this one. After getting a couple of more trains for Christmas presents, the layout grew into a layout sitting on four sheets of plywood. This one had mountains, operating accessories, and multiple tracks. After I was married, I built a layout in my basement that takes up half of the space down there.

Now it was my kids that were getting involved with me.It wasn't until later that I got involved in flying radio control airplanes. I have always liked flying, too. I flew solo (in a real airplane) at age 16. This naturally led me into flying radio control airplanes, which I still enjoy today. I am a member of the Old Town Valley Radio Control Airplane Club and fly whenever I have the time. Today I spend my hobby time building and flying airplanes and keeping my train layout current and operating.
